Trust Board & Management

The Clown Doctors New Zealand Charitable Trust was established on July 24^th 2009 and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of performance and service to the community and engages in a wide range of permanent activities in order to achieve the following objectives:

• We promote the use of laughter as an aid in various circumstances
• We promote the care and more importantly encourage and motivate, give psychological support to and complement the therapy of the sick or suffering in clinics and hospitals. (We plan to extend our work in the future to include rest homes, hospices, schools and similar public and private institutions)
• We encourage imagination, creativity, talent, learning, communication and joie de vivre among children, adults, senior citizens and the disabled, especially those who are ill or in need.
• When requested from hospital staff we are happy to encourage or distract patients and help them to feel more comfortable during unpleasant treatments or procedures.
• We provide information on the healing power of laughter and a positive, cheerful attitude to life under all circumstances, especially during illness and in crisis or other difficult situations.
• We promote and research the use of humour, especially in the form of artistic and entertaining performances, as an enhancement to therapy during the recovery process in the care of the sick or suffering.

The following enthusiastic team has contribute their time, contacts and high professional skills to establish the Clown Doctors New Zealand:

Thomas & Rita represent the management of the trust. They develop, manage and control the day to day operation of the organisation including fundraising, marketing, administration, accounting, clown training, creative development, medical support and clinic co-ordination. At least in the next few years this small but dedicated team will solely be responsible for the operation of Clown Doctors.
